Product description

Virgin organic coconut oil is a versatile plant-based fat for food applications. At room temperature it is white and solid; at higher temperatures it becomes liquid and clear. Its intense natural coconut scent is characteristic and gives many recipes a typical coconut note.

The fat is obtained from the flesh of the coconut and processed as a virgin oil. This preserves the characteristic coconut scent and the typical sensory properties of this grade.

The fatty acid profile is shaped in particular by lauric and myristic acid, complemented by palmitic and oleic acid. Its characteristic melting behaviour makes coconut oil a versatile raw material for a wide range of food concepts.

Virgin organic coconut oil is suitable for baked goods, confectionery, fillings, spreads and other food applications in which a natural coconut note is desired.

Manufacturing process

Cold-pressed (oils)

Cold-pressed (oils)

Natural

Obtained by pressing without external heat, then filtered – neither refined nor deodorised.

The term ‘cold-pressed’ means that the oil has been obtained by pressing without the application of external heat and then filtered. It is neither refined nor deodorised. The term gives no precise indication of the temperature actually reached.

Cold-pressed oils have a limited shelf life and – with a few exceptions – should not be heated to high temperatures.

How does AOT ensure quality, traceability and sustainability?
Every batch is thoroughly tested: chemical analyses, microbiological tests and stability checks ensure consistently high quality. All raw materials are traceable by batch. Our processes comply with IFS Food and ISO 22000:2018 standards. Sustainability and ethical conduct are central to what we do: we work according to our Code of Conduct, use carbon-neutral logistics and recyclable packaging, and give preference to sustainable raw material sources.
