Product description
Cold-pressed organic cupuaçu butter is a light alternative to shea butter. The yellowish-white plant-based fat is characterised by a subtle cocoa scent and a comparatively low melting point. This gives it good spreading behaviour and a light sensory profile, and it absorbs quickly.
Cupuaçu butter is obtained by gentle cold pressing from the seeds of the cupuaçu tree (Theobroma grandiflorum). Virgin processing preserves the characteristic subtle cocoa scent and the natural properties of the butter.
In formulation terms, cupuaçu butter has a fatty acid profile with oleic, stearic and linoleic acid that is similar to that of shea butter. It is also characterised by a higher proportion of arachidic acid. In addition to its function as a consistency factor, the butter has emulsifying properties and can be used as a co-emulsifier in creams and lotions.
The product is suitable for body butters, creams and lotions, lip care and hair care formulations. Cupuaçu butter is also available in another grade.
