Product description
Refined apricot kernel oil is a sensorially neutral base oil for cosmetic formulations in which the oil’s natural odour and colour should be kept to a minimum. It is characterised by a light sensory profile, quick absorption and a silky, non-greasy skin feel.
The starting material is the kernels of sweet apricots, which arise as a side stream of fruit processing and are further processed as part of an upcycling concept. Subsequent refining reduces the colour and natural odour of the oil. This allows it to be used flexibly in formulations with different fragrance and colour concepts.
Apricot kernel oil contains mainly oleic and linoleic acid, giving it a fatty acid composition similar to that of sweet almond oil. In existing formulations, it can therefore be considered as an alternative to sweet almond oil. Its neutral sensory profile allows it to be used in a variety of oil blends and emulsions.
The product is suitable for creams, lotions, massage oils, hair care products and other cosmetic formulations. You will find the cold-pressed and organic grades under ‘Other grades’.

Apricot kernel oil – ‘makes the skin glow’
Apricots were already being cultivated 5,000 years ago. The Armenians were long regarded as the best apricot growers, which is why the Romans called this fruit Malum armenicum, the ‘Armenian apple’. Obtaining the valuable kernel oil with its delicate scent of marzipan has a long tradition; in the past it was very popular for skin care, especially in hot countries.
